For many Filipino-Americans, it is not easy to have conversations about the serious topics. In fact, sometimes we can be avoidant or passive when it comes to tackling the tough stuff. On this episode, we get down with some comments from the Cracking the Coconut Tik Tok page.
These topics include: “Why representation is important to Filipino-Americans,” “Filipinos in the Philippines don’t like being misrepresented,” “Filipino-Americans called HALF-BREEDS,” “Filipino vs Filipino-American Values,” and “Why Filipino-Americans are obsessed with connecting to their culture.”
We hope that our conversations provide some insight and open minds. As Filipino-Americans, we are learning to connect with our Filipino culture, and understand the importance of discovering our roots.
